SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
Do you need a website or do you need a web presence. The question is similar to a chef asking a hungry person Would you like a a burger or a well cooked meal to satisfy your hunger.
Traditional webdesign companies create online brochures for your company accessible via a domain name. Many SEO (search engine optimization) companies charge you just as much to tell you that you need to pay more money to Google to appear on sponsored ads (invisible and ignored by many) viewable after a search. Then you might come across a "social media marketing expert" that will tell you a blah, blah, blog is what you need to make that leap into the web2.0 world. They will also fail to tell you that only 1 in 6 people trust company blogs. Congrats, you now have two websites that nobody goes to and/or trusts.
There are more daily views on Facebook, MySpace and YouTube then Google and Yahoo combined. Add in LinkedIn, Digg and we are not talking about just big numbers but we are talking about an alternative to the web. Many Facebook users keep the site open for hours at a time talking with friends and viewing their activity, installing applications, becoming fans of companies, musicians and consumer products, joining groups of people with similar interests in life. Facebook has become email, google, the news and entertainment in one place. Why leave it?
Many other social networks have similar cases. Neglecting to market on social networks is like an international service provider neglecting to market their product to a new state or country because it's "new."
Obama is the poster child for the power of social media marketing gathering millions of friends and would be voters via successful social media marketing. Many of the top brands and companies that put out products that are in your fridge and closets are utilizing social media. If it's good enough for your President and the people that make the products you buy then it and we could probably help you too.
SOCIAL MEDIA PR
So you made the leap to social media marketing...or maybe just a few of your employees. You get a call from a client you are bidding on and they tell you that they are passing on your proposal because they saw pictures of your drunk CEO on MySpace, read racist comments from one of your managers on Facebook, or saw a video of your employees sleeping on the job on YouTube.
How about the call that says your company is not qualified because the average age of your employees is 22 and nobody in your company has a Masters or PHD but the truth is it's actually 38 and your entire management team went to graduate school. Well, LinkedIn disagrees.
Remember that blog aka blahg you put up and haven't updated since last year...the one with 0 comments next to each post. That doesn't look too good either.
We research your companies name and employees on the web and consult on how to improve your image and more importantly prevent any more damage that is being done by internal forces.
